Thermal Runaway Warning

Thermal Runaway Warning

Thermal Runaway Warning

This advice is most relevant in hotter countries. However, it can affect your mobility batteries if we have a spell of hot weather here in the UK. Ideally, the best place to store your scooter or any spare batteries would be in a cool garage or perhaps a cool shed. This article explains what thermal runway is and how the inability to charge will be affected by heat or any hot weather.

Eric Roberts

Do not charge your mobility scooter when the weather is hot. If you store your mobility scooter in a tin shed, garage or in the car be extra vigilant.

Needed Wheelchair Batteries-Can America Help This Guy???? by Mark Schierloh – GoFundMe

Needed Wheelchair Batteries

Needed Wheelchair Batteries

Hello Community and Random Internet People: These are always sad stories. I have given a few sets of mobility batteries to people who are much worse off than us. This guy lives in the USA, or otherwise I would gladly help him.

Eric Roberts

My name is Nathan Say and I am a 31 year old Performance Poet who has Cerebral Palsy and uses a power wheelchair to ambulate. I survive off a combination of government assistance and a part time nearly minimum wage job. I’m writing today because I need new wheelchair batteries for my electric power chair. Medicare insurance will often not pay for the cost of the batteries in a timely manner, and I cannot be stuck in my house for the amount of days that it would take to get it replaced.

Making battery last Longer-Optima Explains How To Make Your Battery Last Longer

Making battery last Longer

Making battery last LongerWe constantly think about our oil, coolant, tires, and other maintenance-heavy components on our car, but what about your battery?

Making battery last Longer

OPtima are no doubt on of the top battery products and this video explains why. The American battery company use relatively new battery designs to incorporate more power into a smaller space. Hence, this is where the coil plates come into play. Naturally, these batteries are also AGM technology. So giving the battery more deeper cycles. These two combinations make the Optima battery an excellent replacement for your regular car battery replacement.

Not been  scare monger but this is another reason to know and learn the exact distance that your mobility scooter will travel.Hence, with a fully charged battery. In my opinion, this could happen anywhere at any time. Thus, if you are the owner of a wheelchair or mobility scooter, alway make sure that your battery is fully charged before venturing out on a journey.

I am not sure if this is what happened, but it sure does make you think.Of course, can you imagine crossing a rail line and you battery lets you down. Naturally, all you can do is wait for the next person to come along and help you across the line. This guy must have just sat there before being hit by a speeding train. What a way to go?

Stranded: 50-year-old can’t walk her dogs after thieves stole batteries from mobility scooter (From Bournemouth Echo)

thieves stole batteries

thieves stole batteries

I had to show this story. As a result, I feel very sorry for the lady in the story. In my opinion then stealing mobility scooter batteries is “scraping the bottom of the barrel” when it comes to low life. It must happen more often than I have heard about. All I can say is that it may be a good idea to keep a spare pair of batteries. Hence, just in case. A spare pair of batteries can also come in handy for if your scooter batteries fail while you are on your travels .It can and does happen, so please beware.

Elderly man dies after his mobility scooter went into Whakatane river – National – NZ Herald News

This is one of those horror stories that we see in a bad dream. In my opinion, mobility drivers are getting very clever and competent drivers. As expected, there are some people who will take the extra risks, as I suspect in this case. Therefore, we have all seen mobility scooter drivers taking risks. Speeding down hills or crossing busy road junctions. I suspect that there will be a time when scooter drivers may have to take some sort of test.

There is also an added risk. Scooter drivers can now use millions of miles of special routes and cycle lanes. Here in Halifax Yorkshire, we have many miles of cycle tracks that were made from a disused railway track. As expected, this is extended to all the UK. Scooter drivers could face extra risks, so please be careful.

Members of the public desperately tried to revive an elderly man after his scooter veered into a Bay of Plenty river this morning.Emergency services were called to the incident near the bridge…
